my 1st uk weekend Yoga retreat

Did I ever thought I will be running a yoga retreat, no I never thought in million years where I am today. Well everyone seems to be talking about yoga retreat, I had to dive into this curiosity.  During my 1st retreat I came  across that a lot of people felt  nervous about booking onto a retreat, and that’s entirely natural.  There are may questions popping into the head. 

  • Will I like the yoga classes?
  • I may not like the accommodation ?
  • I wonder who else will go on this retreat?
  • Will the yoga class will be too advance for me?
  • What’s included in the price?
  • Will I like the food?
  • Are there going to be people my age?
  • so on…..

All these questions and others came flying to me, and you can call me and find out any question that pops into the head. 

This retreat was for those who were craving some time away, this was  the perfect space to connect to your inner self.  Everyone engaged  with new people in new surroundings on this weekend retreat.

The Retreat centre was a stunning stately home in the heart of the ancient woodland of the New Forest. Alice Hargreaves, the inspiration for Alice in Wonderland, spent many happy days playing here!

This yoga weekend retreat combined Surya Namaskara , yin, Yoga Nidra  meditations and Gong bath to unlock and heal the body. 

We had an amazing opportunity to make  MALAs on this beautiful mala making workshop.

The food was out of this world , all food was  freshly prepared locally sourced plant-based.

Friday 

4pm – Arrival check into your rooms

5pm – Welcome  hot drink and cake and get together chat get to know each other 

6-7.15pm – Chillout Yin Yoga

7.30pm – onwards Delicious veggie dinner

 Saturday

8am – 10am – Breakfast & walk in woods after

10.30am – 12pm Vinyasa Yoga Class

12-1pm Chillout time

1pm – 3pm – Delicious veggie Lunch and Relaxing time

3pm – 7.15pm  – Gong Bath , Relaxing Yin and Yoga Nidra 

7.30pm –  Delicious veggie dinner 

Sunday 

7.30am – 9.30am – Breakfast & walk in woods after

9.45am – 11pm Hatha Yoga Class

11-2pm Mala workshop (details to follow)

2.15pm – 3pm –Delicious Farewell veggie Lunch

The Retreat is easily accessible by road or rail or plane:

  • Address: The Retreat New Forest, Lyndhurst Road, Hinton, Christchurch, BH23 7EF.

  • By car: By road the venue is just off the A35 between Lyndhurst and Christchurch. It is impossible to miss, as you can see the venue from the road. Just type in the address or postcode into google maps. It is a simple journey from London – about 2 hours drive. It’s also about 2 hours drive from Brighton. It’s 30 mins from Southampton, 30 mins from Poole, and 45 mins from Salisbury.

  • ​Parking: There is free easy parking outside The Retreat.

  • Plane: Bournemouth International Airport is just 15 mins drive away.

  • By train: There are numerous train stations nearby. The main train station is in Christchurch, which is 5 miles away (less than 10 mins in a taxi). There are also train stations in Hinton Admiral (3 mins drive) or New Milton (5 mins drive), or Sway (10 mins drive), or Brockenhurst (15 mins drive).
