What is Yoga Nidra? 

Yoga Nidra is a state of consciousness , a deep meditative yogic sleep. It’s also referred to Going- to – sleep stage. State of Being. During this practice, practitioner rests comfortably in Savanna (corpse pose). Yoga nidra practice takes you through 5 layers of KOSHAS or stages. Every one should try Yoga Nidra practice as this while lying still on the floor. It’s is important to be supported in Savanna by folded blankets or cushions.There is an evidence that yoga nidra can help a  relieve stress and sleep disorders. like insomnia. Yoga nidra can help lower the heart rate, blood pressure   anxiety, depression and PTSD .

Whilst the origins and practices of the many aspects of yoga still remain shrouded in mystery, one thing is certain – Yoga can change how we feel not just physically, but mentally and emotionally too. Yoga can enhance feelings of happiness and wellbeing, help release sadness and grieving, and encourage relaxation and dynamism. Though we may not all be able to become ascetics and renounce worldly responsibilities in favour of yoga practice, we can use our yoga practice to become more connected, vital and engaged with the world we live in.
